The Department of Agriculture (Economics & Marketing) was established in 1967. The objective of the department is to increase the producers’ share in consumers’ rupee. The department conducts, publishes and disseminates commodity survey and marketing research reports.
Supervision of Market Committees in accordance with PAPM, Ordinance, 1978 and Rules framed thereunder.
Establishment of new and shifting of old agriculture produce markets from populated/ congested areas under rule 67 of Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets (G) Rules, 1979.


Price Control Mechanism

  • Retail list prepared by giving real margin to the Retailer
  • Auction proceedings monitored regularly on daily basis
